To His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, and to the people of Ghana.
We, Ghanaian citizens and football supporters, wish to draw your attention to the concerning situation of the Ghana Football Association. As the Ghanaian State funds the national teams, it is legitimate for the people to demand transparency, good governance, and results.
In light of recent performances and the growing lack of trust, we respectfully call for: THE DISSOLUTION OF THE GHANA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION.
Since the appointment of President Kurt Okraku in 2019, Ghanaian football has experienced a noticeable decline:
Senior Category:
AFCON 2019: Round of 16
AFCON 2021 & 2024: Group stage elimination
AFCON 2025: Did not qualify
FIFA World Cup 2022: Group stage elimination
Youth Categories & Infrastructure: The decline is global: no U-20 or U-17 World Cup qualifications since 2015/2017. Furthermore, our infrastructure is in crisis. Out of four main stadiums, only one (Accra Sports Stadium) is currently approved. The pitches at Sekondi Takoradi, Baba Yara, and Tamale are unfit for international standards, hindering the domestic league and player development.
Coaching and Management: Appointments lack top-level experience and vision. The frequent changes of coaches prevent any continuity, and the national team is now ranked 74th in the FIFA rankings, a position unworthy of our history.
Our Proposals:
Establishment of a Normalization Committee (jointly with FIFA) composed of former internationals and legal experts to conduct a full audit and restructure the statutes.
Organization of transparent and fair elections open to a wider public to ensure accountable leadership.

Nous, citoyens ghanéens et passionnés de football, souhaitons attirer votre attention sur la situation préoccupante de la Fédération ghanéenne de football. L’État ghanéen jouant un rôle majeur dans le financement, il est légitime d’exiger transparence et résultats.

Infrastructures et Formation : Le bilan est alarmant. Sur les quatre principaux stades du pays, un seul est actuellement homologué (Accra). Les pelouses de Sekondi Takoradi, Baba Yara et Tamale sont insuffisantes et indignes d'une nation de football. Cela freine la progression des joueurs locaux et l'attractivité de notre championnat.
Instabilité Technique : Le choix des entraîneurs manque d'ambition et de références solides. Cette instabilité empêche toute continuité. Aujourd’hui, le Ghana est classé 74ème au classement FIFA, une position indigne de son histoire face à des nations comme le Sénégal ou le Maroc.
Nos propositions :
Mise en place d’un Comité de Normalisation (avec la FIFA) composé d'anciens joueurs et de juristes intègres pour réaliser un audit complet et revoir les statuts.
Organisation d’élections transparentes et équitables garantissant une nouvelle gouvernance crédible.
