According to several international media outlets, this decision came after direct interventions from American President Donald Trump to FIFA President Gianni Infantino. Donald Trump himself publicly thanked FIFA for "correcting a serious injustice." Whether this intervention was decisive or not, a fundamental question arises: should a political authority be able to influence, or give the impression of influencing, a disciplinary decision of an international sports federation?
Football is the most popular sport in the world. It can only maintain its credibility if its rules are applied equally to all.
Sporting fairness rests on a simple principle: disciplinary decisions must be made solely based on regulations, evidence, and the independence of the competent authorities. They must never be influenced or appear to be influenced by the political, diplomatic, or economic weight of a state, no matter how powerful.

to make public the legal and disciplinary reasons that led to the lifting of Folarin Balogun's suspension;
to ensure that all disciplinary procedures remain completely independent of any political intervention;
to strengthen transparency mechanisms so that every exceptional decision can be understood and monitored;
to solemnly reaffirm that all players, all national teams, and all federations are treated according to the same rules, without privilege or favoritism.
This petition does not target any player or national team.
It defends an essential principle: equality before the rules of the game.
