For 10 years, the English-speaking regions of Cameroon have been torn apart by an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Thousands of soldiers and civilians have lost their lives. Displaced families in Yaoundé or Douala are struggling to survive, while children are deprived of education or forced into informal work to pay for evening classes, at the risk of their safety.
Our demands for peace: We, Cameroonian citizens, must remain fearless until our voices are heard. We implore the Government to take immediate action to:
End the violence and human rights abuses in conflict zones;
Engage in an inclusive and transparent dialogue live on national television with representatives from regions demanding separation or autonomy;
Establish a national day of mourning in memory of fallen soldiers and civilians.
