Always concerned about the persecution of minorities in the world, and suffering in general, I regained hope when the whole world was outraged at the death of George Floyd....
Among the minorities who suffer atrocities in full view of all, there is the Uighur minority in China.
Browse through this list of companies* quickly, if you see a brand that you consume, then you have even more power to act and help a minority. That minority are the Uighurs. They are nowadays detained in internment camps where they are tortured and forced to work for large international companies. . The Australian Institute of Political Strategy (ASPI) has just published a report and denounces the fact that "China has transferred tens of thousands of members of the Muslim Uighur community held in internment camps to factories supplying at least 80 of the world's leading brands".
As I went through this list, my blood froze, these marks were part of my daily life: my last bag I bought at Lacoste, my Zara suit or the pajamas I had on my back from H&M, for me it was too much! I couldn't take part in such infamy, I had to act. That's why I launched a petition.
Let us make ourselves heard, let us mobilize en masse and support this petition so that the Uighurs can regain their dignity and freedom but also so that never again can a people be exploited and persecuted in silence, we are all concerned, we are all consumers.
