What is happening in Morocco and Tunisia, already more than grave for homeless animals (particularly these 2 countries) and to a lesser extent in Algeria, is incomparable to the ignominy, the atrocities that have been committed against stray dogs in Egypt, or the number of deranged individuals, sick and degenerate people who incite hatred and barbaric murders. It is an abominable abyss. Good people, those who try to protect and help these miserable beings daily, are in absolute moral distress and can no longer bear it. Human demons everywhere!!!

And far too few shelters for the thousands of animals in the streets of the country, who feed on scraps of waste and are all in a disastrous physical state (this dog, I am in contact with the person who reported it, a volunteer who feeds dogs in the streets, these emaciated creatures. He will receive treatment and I will fight to find him a place to live, even if he is in this country, he is a ghost among millions, I will do everything in my power with the shelters in the country because he survives and sleeps in the street, amidst the waste.

The government is doing what it can, criminals and other deranged individuals are often arrested and judged but the laws are weak, the country is vast and the number of human demons, a black river.

The petition regarding these very unfortunate animals will require a month of preparation in an exhausting schedule but I owe them that, I owe them to show the world and tourists their agony and their unspeakable suffering through words.

ACTING TOGETHER AGAINST SCHEDULED CULLINGS BY MUNICIPALITIES INCITED BY PEOPLE'S HATRED FOR DOGS

WHO FEAR FOR THEIR CHILDREN!!! DESPITE THE BAN.

LET US MASSIVELY CALL OUT TO THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE OF THE COUNTRY WHO HAS BEEN CLEAR IN HIS POSITION.

It is the municipalities that do not respect the law!!

On November 15, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries marked a historic turning point in the management of stray dogs and cats: the immediate cessation of "wild" and "anarchic" culling operations carried out in several municipalities across the country. From now on, any intervention aimed at eliminating stray animals must be authorized by the veterinary services of the wilayas and followed by precise procedures defined by the ministry.

This decision followed a wave of indignation triggered by images of shootings, poisonings, and brutal killings, widely circulated by the press and on social media. The reaction of citizens, animal welfare associations, and activists was immediate and massive.

“We can no longer tolerate these brutal and unregulated practices. They are contrary to our human and religious values, and they harm Algeria's reputation on the international stage,” the ministry recalled in its statement.

Let us not allow rogue municipalities, outside the law, to break this unique, civilized, and profound reform on the continent.

The minister must urgently prevent further scheduled massacres and continue to implement integrated policy lines focused on sterilization, vaccination, census, and the creation of reception infrastructures for stray animals.

Excerpt from recent culling statement:

#Commune_de_Faranda informs all #citizens that a #campaign of shootings against #stray_and_homeless_dogs will be organized on #Thursday May 7, 2026, starting at 10:00 PM at various #neighbourhoods_and_streets_of_the_municipality, in coordination with security, civil protection, and specialized agencies.

The #citizens are asked not to panic when they hear gunfire during the operation, with the need to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movements.

As the #municipality calls on dog owners to leash their animals and keep them indoors, every dog found wandering during the campaign will be considered a stray dog.

Let us mobilize to ask the Minister of Agriculture to stop this infamy and enforce the law he has put in place!!
