We are writing to express our concerns that the association of Gay Games 2018 Paris and Federation of Gay Games (FGG) may no more be convinced to promote equality among the world, according to the official statement made on July 25th 2018, https://www.facebook.com/notes/gay-games/federation-of-gay-games-official-statement/2177767438918825/.
According to the statement of FGG, we have learnt that the name of the country “Taiwan” will be replaced by the name of the city “Taipei” without any explanations. Then, the website of Gay Games 2018 Paris has changed it without informing any Taiwanese participants. We cannot stay silent regarding this disrespectful way of doing and this unjustified process.
We respectfully remind you that in your statement, you have addressed that “All activities conducted by FGG shall be inclusive in nature, and that no individual shall be excluded from participating on the basis of sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, athletic/artistic ability, physical challenge, age, health status, nationality, ethnic origin, or political belief(s).” While at the same time, not respecting your own convictions and own words by erasing the nationality, Taiwan, from the list and therefore forbidding all Taiwanese participants to be proud of their nations during an International event, while the Gay Games are promoting respect and freedom to be our own selves without social pressure, how hypocrite!
